Well last Wednesday I got laid off from my job of 3 years...I was shocked but at the same time relieved. I hated my job, I was Miserable there and I didn't find another job. I just stayed where I was and just complained about how much I didn't like it. You wish for something long enough and your wish comes true...You get laid off. I would rather be unemployed and happy then be somewhere I am not happy...Yes I know a Paycheck helps...But it won't buy you happiness.
So I am looking for a job! I am thinking that I am done with the whole being an admin. I need a job in food. So that is where my search will start, My wish Is to just make cupcakes and sell them and make enough that I can be comfortable financially! In a perfect world eh!
So last Friday Cami from the Management office in the bldg that my last job was at had a cupcake job for me. I am always making cupcakes and giving them to friends and family so I give them to my friend Fawn all the time. Well Friday Fawn was down in Cami's office bragging about how good my cupcakes are. So I get a phone call from Cami asking if I could make 9 dozen cupcakes for some tenants and if I could deliver them as well. $30 a dozen (you do the math). She said that she couldn't find anyone who would deliver, (so that is how I am going to get people with my business, tell them not ONLY do I make cupcakes but I deliver). So I told Cami yes! So I have been a baking FOOL Since Monday at 6:30 AM! I started then and then wrapped it up for the night at 11:30, then got up today (Tuesday) at 6:30 AM and finished at 10:30 AM...Talk about hard work. I was a little grumpy, because my feet, legs were sore and my hands were sore as well from squeezing all that frosting from a piping bag onto the cupcakes...But all worth it!
So I delivered the cupcakes today to the tenants and they were very happy campers! I also delivered some to Cami's office as well. The property Manager Michelle called me and told me what a great job I did and she was thoroughly impressed with how well the cupcakes were decorated, and how yummy they tasted and that she had eaten 3 already...So I am hoping Cami and Michelle Refer me to everyone they know and use me for other cupcake job because I really enjoy it!
i love that you got to make so many different kinds of cupcakes! and i love all the different paper colors too! i love your HUGE calculator, were you totaling up the cash you were about to make?!?! i hate that you lost your job, and i have always hated the saying, "everything happens for a reason", so i'll stick with, "when one door closes another opens" and hopefully these cupcakes are just your 1st start!
